My Lizzy Stories
Here you can send in your own personal stories about Thin Lizzy, or pictures that you've had taken with the band.
It was a normal boring 'saving the pennies' weeknight when I had a phone call off my girlfriend's mum saying 'get down the pub before closing Thin Lizzy are coming to play.'
Well as 'The Dog' on the Hagley Road, Bearwood is not your biggest pub I took some convincing, but as she was 'screaming' down the phone I thought I'd better go. So I got on the phone to my mate Andy Cooke and got there, really not expecting what was about to happen, the pub closed and there was only the staff and us, when the film crew walked in and started setting up their cameras, sound and lighting we thought maybe… na no way then 'Chris Tarrant' and 'Bob Carrolgees' came in and then this strong Dublin accent 'filled' the room, on turning, there was the Legend 'Mr Phil Lynott'!
I was in total awe. I never even asked for an autograph. Luckily, my girlfriend took some pictures or I would not have believed it had happened. They came in and belted out 'Cold Sweat' and went. It took less than ˝ and hour!
The toilet was an outside one and when I went out, there was 'Scott Gorham' bet that was a shock for him, it was for me!
